The purpose of the Park System Master Plan is to establish a clear, 20-year vision for the Bloomington park, trail, recreation, and open space systems.  This Master Plan will help the Parks Department ensure they are meeting the needs of the community now and into the future.  Key activities of the include:

• Evaluate existing Park System features, amenities and services •
• Create a clear and powerful vision for Bloomington parks for the next 20 years
• Develop a prioritization strategy for decision-making 
• Identify and prioritize the needs, desires and interests of the community today and anticipated for the next 20 years
• Establish a detailed implementation program 
• Identify best practices to guide operations and maintenance
• Involve robust community and stakeholder engagement in defining the vision 

Public input is a critical part of project BLOOM!  Your thoughts and ideas are an important part of the qualitative and quantitative metrics that we are collecting to define the vision and implementation plan for the Master Plan.  Please review the final draft of the Master Plan to see how your input was combined with other elements.
